Welcome to the School of Advanced Agriculture Science and Technology at Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University. Our school established in the year 2022, aims to impart education in agriculture and allied sciences and stands at the forefront of agricultural education. We offer undergraduate program (B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture) and postgraduate programs M.Sc. (Ag.) Agronomy, M.Sc. (Hort.) in Vegetable Science / Fruit Science / Floriculture and Landscaping and M.Sc. Food Science and Technology. We at SAAST are committed to fostering an environment that encourages innovation, critical thinking, and hands-on experience, essential for addressing the evolving challenges in the field of agriculture.
Our faculty members are not only educators but also pioneers in their respective research areas, contributing significantly to the advancement of agricultural science. Their dedication and expertise ensure that our students receive a comprehensive and up-to-date education, preparing them to become leaders in the agricultural sector.
We place a strong emphasis on holistic development, providing our students with opportunities to engage in field trials, laboratory experiments, trainings, conferences and various community outreach programs. These experiences are designed to enhance their practical skills, broaden their perspectives, and instill a sense of responsibility towards sustainable agricultural practices.

The School of Advanced Agriculture Sciences and Technology (SAAST), CSJMU campus, Kanpur was established in the academic session 2022-2023 with an aim to impart education in different branches of agriculture and allied sciences. The school started its undergraduate program, B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture in the year 2022. Further, in the coming sessions it will open newer avenues for postgraduate education and undertake research in agriculture for Ph.D. programs. The School although recently came into being, has become a hub of activities with a very clear vision to disseminate excellence in education, research and extension activities. Through collaborations with organizations of national repute, the students stand to benefit to learn not only the traditional farming practices but also the latest technological advances in agriculture sector such as drones, artificial intelligence, precision farming, soilless farming, biotechnological interventions etc. Emphasis is given to innovations and entrepreneurship skill development so as to strengthen livelihood generation among the youth. Nurturing the minds of youth through education and personality development by involving them in various departmental programs such as quizzes, debates, celebration of important dates related to agriculture sector has created an environment of vigour and excitement among the students. In addition, expert talks, seminars, national and international conferences and visits to fields & organizations give a first-hand exposure to students to develop academic excellence. As a centre of education, the school envisions to nurture the students to become the future torch bearers in sustainable development of the planet.

About the Course: B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture is a four-year undergraduate program that follows the recommendations of ICAR 5 th Dean Committee’s Report. It offers the study of various disciplines of agriculture and allied sciences such as Agronomy, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry, Entomology, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Plant Pathology, Horticulture, Food Science & Technology, Agricultural Extension and Communication, Biochemistry / Physiology / Microbiology/ Environmental Sciences, Statistics, Computer Application and I.P.R., Animal Production, Language (English), NSS/NCC/Physical Education & Yoga Practices, Human Values & Ethics and Rural Agricultural Work Experience and Agro-industrial Attachment (RAWE &AIA).
