Guided by the vision of the National Council for Teacher Education and aligned with the transformative goals of the National Education Policy 2020, we strive to offer dynamic and research- oriented teacher education programmes. Our curriculum integrates theory with practice, promotes experiential learning, encourages innovation and nurtures digital and pedagogical competencies essential for the 21st century. Our programs Ph.D, M.Ed., B.Ed. and ITEP emphasize on experiential learning, research orientation, digital competence, value-based education and community engagement. We nurture educators who are academically proficient, socially sensitive and globally aware, capable of responding to the diverse needs of 21st-century learners.

The Department of Education started its journey in 1980 with M.Phil (Education) Course. Department of Education runs like B.Ed., M.Ed., Ph.D. programmes. Alumni of this Department is serving various University Departments, Government Teachers Training Colleges, DIETs, Teachers Training Colleges run by various Trusts. Students of this Department are also serving as teachers in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Primary, Upper Primary & Secondary Schools of various State Governments. Alumni of this Department is also serving Provincial & Union Civil Services and premier institutions like UGC. The Research focal areas of the Department are psychological aspects of learning and learner, Gender Issues, Education of disadvantaged, Policy analysis, Professional Development of Teachers, Curriculum Design, Educational Management &Administration etc.
