President Kovind attends the first alumni meet of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur; says the goal of making the country a ‘Knowledge Super Power’ can only be met when educational institutions are made centers of innovation, ideation and incubation.

The President called for setting up of ‘Endowment Fund’, which can be used to award scholarships to poor and meritorious students, develop the infrastructure of the institution and to raise advanced technology and resources for the institution.

As an alumnus of the university, the President made a personal contribution of Rs 1,11,000 to the Alumni Association to initiate such a fund and urged them to contribute generously.
