Bio Sketch/About
Mr. Srajan Srivastava is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and academician with over 3.6 years of combined clinical, teaching, and training experience across hospital, institutional, and community mental-health settings. He is currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Government University, Kanpur, where he is actively involved in teaching, clinical training, academic governance, and mental-health outreach. He holds an M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from the Amity Institute of Behavioral and Allied Sciences, a program recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), and is registered to practice as a Clinical Psychologist under RCI norms. His academic interests and professional work span clinical assessment, psychotherapy, stress and trauma, emotional regulation, judicial mental health, and psychosocial well-being across the lifespan. Academic and Teaching Contributions At the university, Dr. Srivastava serves as Course Coordinator for the RCI-recognized B.Sc. in Clinical Psychology program, ensuring curriculum implementation and compliance with statutory requirements. He is a Co-Guide to M.Phil. Clinical Psychology (RCI) scholars and functions as Posting In-Charge, supervising clinical postings, case exposure, logbooks, and ethical training. He has also contributed as an Examination Paper Setter for Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya University. He has taught over 200 students across multiple programs, including M.Phil. Clinical Psychology (RCI), B.Sc. Clinical Psychology (RCI), B.A. Psychology, BBA-LLB (Social Psychology), and PG Diploma in Guidance and Counselling (PGDGC). His teaching emphasizes evidence-based practice, clinical reasoning, ethical competence, and applied psychology. Clinical Experience Mr. Srivastava has extensive clinical experience of more than 4500+ hours and training in adult, child, and adolescent mental health, with postings at leading psychiatric and medical institutions including Noor Manzil Psychiatric Hospital, Nirvaan Psychiatric Hospital, Command Hospital (Lucknow), COAL JK group and specialized child intervention centers. His clinical work includes detailed case formulation, psychological assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy, and multidisciplinary collaboration. He has a special clinical interest in couple and family therapy, child psychopathology, and psychosocial rehabilitation. Lectures, Outreach, and Public Engagement He has delivered more than 30 invited lectures to diverse audiences including sitting judges, students, inmates, and in-patients, with repeated engagements at The Judicial Training & Research Institute, Lucknow. He currently serves as a Mental Health Resource Person for Judges in Uttar Pradesh, focusing on stress management, emotional intelligence, work–life balance, and psychological resilience. He has also got opportunity to enlighten PhD scholars at IIT Kanpur at Department of Cognitive Sciences on practical nuances of Clinical Psychology. He has worked in coordination with the District Magistrate, Kanpur, and DIOS, Kanpur on the implementation of Government of Uttar Pradesh guidelines on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in educational institutions. He is also a regular expert contributor to newspapers, providing evidence-based psychological perspectives on mental health and social issues. Research and Publications He has published in SCOPUS-indexed journals, with research focusing on psychological well-being, chronic illness, and applied clinical interventions. His work bridges clinical psychology with public health and psychosocial care. He has received multiple Best Paper and Best Presentation Awards at national and international conferences and has presented research at forums including the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (IACP). Professional Roles and Memberships He is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Rehabilitation Council of India, and a member of the Indian Association of Clinical Psychology and the American Psychological Association.
