ICSSR 2 Days National Seminar

About The Seminar

The primary goal of this proposed seminar aligns harmoniously with the overarching vision delineated in the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020, which places substantial emphasis on fostering a deep-seated sense of pride and reverence for India’s opulent heritage and culture within the realm of educational institutions spanning schools and higher-education institutes (HEIs). This seminar serves as a conduit for nurturing inventive ideas and critical frameworks that converge divergent perspectives to champion the diverse manifestations of Indian languages and cultures. It acts as a platform to craft pragmatic strategies for the seamless integration of India’s multifaceted indigenous knowledge systems—encompassing tribal lore and local sagacity—into the very foundations of national curricula’s pedagogical frameworks.

Through active participation in these dialogues, resonating with the spirit of NEP 2020, the seminar aspires to fortify cultural identity and nurture self-reliance (Atmanirbharta) and self-esteem within the emerging fabric of society through the mediums of contemporary educational methodologies. Observing the NEP as an instrument for conserving India’s cultural heritage, the seminar envisions a realm wherein novel ideas are incubated to reinvigorate imperiled languages, arts, and traditions by reconceptualizing their roles within our modern educational policies.

Ultimately, the seminar is committed to deliberating upon strategies that facilitate the effective execution of a comprehensive, multicultural, and multidisciplinary educational paradigm, one that seamlessly accommodates the array of socio-economic backgrounds amongst scholars and academicians. In alignment with the NEP’s recommendation for institutions, both technical and non-technical, such as IITs and universities, to transition towards multidisciplinary and comprehensive educational frameworks, this seminar, meticulously organized by the Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension at Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, underscores the critical necessity of elevating cultural identity and fostering a consciousness of cherishing our indigenous wisdom and time-honoured systems.

At the heart of the seminar’s agenda lies the cultivation of a multidisciplinary ecosystem that reveres the multicultural tapestry of Indian society within the modern pedagogical landscape. The objective of the seminar underscores the pressing need to research, safeguard, and champion Indian languages and cultures, thus pre-emptively addressing the perils of their erosion and potential extinction. The seminar serves as a crucible for vigorous deliberations, with a particular emphasis on pivotal subjects like Indian languages, literature, and arts. It will cast a spotlight on the existing state of “Humanities & Social Science” within the contours of Indian curricula, accentuating the richness and inclusivity that define the integration and teaching of liberal arts disciplines across both public and private educational establishments.

Call for Papers

The proposed seminar will engage in thorough discussions concerning the status of education as a concurrent subject, aiming to devise effective solutions for the seamless, efficient, and collaborative implementation of Indian arts and languages’ instruction across diverse regions of the country. By convening academicians, policymakers, and experts from the realm of Indian arts, literature, languages, and culture, the seminar will make a significant contribution to the overarching mission of the National Education Policy, particularly in enhancing the holistic development of our nation’s educational infrastructure.

In pursuit of establishing a comprehensive nationwide curriculum that embraces linguistic diversity and cultural multiplicity, the seminar will facilitate meaningful dialogues addressing the formulation of effective teaching strategies and the harnessing of technological advancements. The discussions will revolve around the imperative of creating a robust teaching framework that accommodates the diverse educational landscapes of the nation.

Furthermore, the discourse on optimizing teaching infrastructure will extend to the realm of curriculum design. This involves crafting a flexible curriculum featuring dynamic arrays of courses that offer students both creative and academic pathways, thereby empowering them to tailor their educational journeys in alignment with their career aspirations and inclinations.
