About the Department

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is an important academic division in the School of Engineering and Technology at CSJM University, Kanpur. It provides a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses that provide a solid theoretical base as well as practical skills and research orientation for students.

In addition, the academic environment of the department encourages students to develop analytical thought, to think ethically about their role as computer users and professionals, to be innovative and to engage in interdisciplinary studies. Furthermore, it seeks to encourage active interaction between students and faculty members with the industry and other research institutions, both nationally and internationally. In this context, the department aims to continually update and relate the content of its programs and activities to the relevant national education policies and international academic standards.

Welcome to the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. The CSE Department is focused upon developing a stimulating educational environment for our students that fosters their intellectual development, creative abilities and professional capabilities.

The department develops strong foundation in basic computer science while exposing students to cutting edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Data-Driven Systems. We encourage our students to pursue Research-Oriented Learning, Competitive Programming, Innovation Activities and Interdisciplinary Projects.

The department aims at creating globally employable professionals through continued academic initiatives, modernization of physical infrastructure and mentorship by our faculty members so that our graduates can make meaningful contributions to industries, research organizations, and higher education institutions around the world.

Supercomputing Hub for Artificial Intelligence

The Department hosts a dedicated Supercomputing Hub for Artificial Intelligence that supports advanced computing, data-intensive research, and hands-on training in AI and high-performance computing.

Advanced AI InfrastructureGPU-accelerated systems equipped with NVIDIA H200-class processors for large-scale AI training, deep learning, and scientific computing.

Academic & Research UsageSupports computer vision, natural language processing, large language models, simulations, and interdisciplinary AI research.

Competitive Programming & ICPC

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is the host of the
ICPC Asia Kanpur Regional Site, part of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC).
The department has been hosting the ICPC Kanpur Regional continuously since 2017.
