A week long Induction/Orientation on ‘Machine Learning’ sponsored by AICTE-ISTE was organized by the Department of Information Technology, UIET from 18^th – 24^th February 2022. AICTE-ISTE Refresher Programs are essential for teachers in technical institutions for their professional refinement, to update their knowledge and improve their organizational and pedagogical skills.

This FDP which was conducted in online mode provided an opportunity to the teachers to understand the field of Machine Learning, a subfield of Artificial Intelligence. The topics discussed during the course of this FDP included Introduction to ML, SVM with lab in Python, Evaluation and Evaluation Measures, Bayesian Classification, Introduction to Deep Learning and Tensor Flow, NLP using Deep Learning, Explainable AI. Prominent speakers from Industry and Academia included Prof. Rajiv Mishra, IITP, Dr. Rakesh Balbantaray, IIITB, Dr. Anand Handa, IITK, Prof. Surya Prakash, IIT Indore Dr. Vikas Bajpai, LNMIIT Jaipur, Prof .Raghuraj Singh, HBTU Kanpur, Prof MK Dutta Director, Center of Advance Studies, AKTU, Dr. Shiv Ram Dubey, IIIT Allahabad, Prof. Debi Acharya, VIT, Achal Agarwal, Nagarro, Dr Anukriti Bansal, Dr. Rashi Agarwal and Dr Satyam Srivastava.
