Bio Sketch/About
Dr. Sumana Biswas has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Modern European and Other Foreign Languages, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, India since 2010. Her areas of research consist of Eco-criticism, Eco-Feminism, Feminism and their applications in interpreting and analyzing various literary texts. She has profound research interest in Children's Literature, especially Folk Tales, Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales. She has supervised 40 MPhil dissertations till date. She has worked as an Associate Editor for The International Journal of Humanities and The International Journal of Social Sciences in 2006 and 2008. She has been publishing in peer-reviewed national and international journals of repute. Publications in the form of chapters in books/anthologies, conference and seminar paper presentations, and completion of FDPs and workshops also add to her credit. She is an active member of BOS in the Department of Higher Studies in English and Foreign Languages, School of Languages. Earlier, she was a member of RMMLA, USA and ANZAMEMS (Australia and New Zealand). She is a life member of EFSLE and also one of the coordinators of its Uttar Pradesh Central region. She is rendering her services as Department's faculty coordinator to the University's Universal Human Values Cell, and as a member of the University's NAAC and SSR Core Committees.
