A group of students from Final year and Third year has visited National Sugar Institute (NSI), Kanpur on Monday, 14 February and Tuesday, 15 February 2022 for an educational visit. The students visited the Sugar Production Plant at the NSI premises and learnt about the various steps and unit operations involved in the process of sugar production – Extraction of juice from sugarcane, Purification & clarification of sugar juice, Evaporation, Treatment with sulfur, and Crystallization and Centrifugation, Storage and Packaging of white sugar.
