Central Library

The Central Library of C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur was established in 1968. Initially the establishment was housed in a hall of the University Administrative Building. In 1993 it was shifted to the present library building. The renovation of the central library started in 2003. Now it has a centrally located magnificent three-storied building equipped with all modern facilities. It has a seating capacity of about 700 users. It houses more than 5,00000 rich collection of documents including books, periodicals, theses, reference material, bound volumes of journals, rare manuscripts etc. It has implemented technologies to strengthen its digital network in order to cater to the academic needs of the young learners and educators.. In addition to the print section, the central library extensively subscribes to the open access to videos, e-resources, various other academic material and databases for Sciences, Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Engineering, Law etc. Select repositories are subscribed by the University through e-Sodhganga, MOOC courses and National Academic Depository. Provisions of remote access to databases and anti-plagiarism software also exist. A special lab for the PWD (Person with Disability) students has been established so that they can access all the available resources of library in their desirable format such as audio books, braille form etc. Keeping in mind the optimum utilization of the library collections & online resources, periodic user orientation programs are organized by the library.
