This program offers advanced training in Kathak dance along with an in-depth study of the theory and aesthetics of Indian classical dance. The course focuses on Laya–Taal understanding, intricate footwork (Tatkar), Abhinaya, traditional and contemporary Kathak repertoire, and the study and presentation of classical compositions such as Thaat, Aamad, Tukde, Paran, and Gat.
Through regular practical training, stage performances, choreography practice, and viva-voce examinations, students develop strong performance skills along with a deeper academic understanding of Kathak dance tradition. The program prepares students for professional careers as performers, choreographers, teachers, and researchers in the field of Indian Classical Dance.
