Bio Sketch/About
Dr. Anuradha Kalani is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur. The previous position Dr. Kalani held was that of Senior Research Scientist at the Kansas University Medical Center (KUMC), Kansas City, USA (2019-2021). Dr. Kalani received her graduation and post-graduate degrees in biochemistry from CSJM University, Kanpur. Dr. Kalani qualified the CSIR-UGC-NET, SLET and GATE (98.82 percentile, AIR 28) exams and earned a PhD from the CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow in 2011. Meanwhile, Dr. Kalani conducted research at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, after receiving fellowship grants from the Department of Biotechnology and the Indian Council of Medical Research, India. Following that, Dr. Kalani received a post-doctorate/research associate fellowship in NIH-funded research grants and worked at the University of Louisville on projects related to brain science and vascular biology (2012-2019). While at KUMC, she obtained a diploma as an animal research coordinator (2019-2020) and participated in a federal Superfund research program at the University of Louisville (2018-2019). Dr. Anuradha was awarded twice the most prestigious ‘award of excellence’ in neuroscience for her work on novel drug delivery methods in the form of exosomse by the Kentucky neuroscience chapter, USA. She was featured by the American Physiological Society, USA in a press release on her studies on methionine diets and memory decline. While in USA she bagged several awards including Young Investigator award, Mead Johnson Research award, best research paper award, Campbell poster competition award, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratory Junior Scientist award. She has given several oral talks on her work on exosomes, mitochondria and neurobiology at Experimental Biology meet, USA. In addition, she is well versed in almost all molecular biology techniques, microscopy techniques, cell culture techniques, and mouse models, and has an excellent track record.
