Bio Sketch/About
Dr. Shiwanand Pandey is an accomplished horticulturist and academician currently serving as an Assistant Professor. With extensive expertise in fruit science and research, he has consistently contributed for advancement of horticultural practices. Dr. Pandey’s academic journey began with B.Sc. in Horticulture from Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University (2015), followed by M.Sc. in Horticulture from Acharaya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (2017). He earned his Ph.D. from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology in 2021, where his excellence was recognized with a University Fellowship. He has also qualified ICAR-ASRB NET (Fruit Science) in 2020. Dr. Pandey has extensive experience in both teaching and research. He served as an Assistant Professor at Baba Farid Group of Institutions, Dehradun, and as Teaching Associate at the College of Horticulture, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSAUA&T), Kanpur. In addition, he worked as a Research Assistant (2017–2018) and later as a Senior Research Fellow (2021–2022) at the Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture (CISH). Dr. Pandey has published 31 Research Papers in reputed national and international journals, 4 Books, 11 book chapters, practical manual on plant propagation and 10 Popular Articles (6 English, 4 Hindi) aimed at knowledge dissemination. He has presented his research work at 5 National and 2 International conferences across India. His contributions to the field have earned him several accolades, including the Young Pomologist Award from the Gladiolus Trust of India, Recognition from the Department of Horticulture and Food Processing, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. He is also Life member in three professional societies. Dr. Pandey remains dedicated to academic excellence and innovative research, focusing on the sustainable development of the horticultural sector.
