Department of vocational studies in interior design and fashion technology was established in 2019. We have inaugurated the Department of Vocational Studies (Fashion Technology & Interior Design Branch) on the 18 th of October 2019. Hon. Kamal Rani Varun, Minister of Technical Education of Uttar Pradesh was the chief guest of the event. Our vision is to provide skill development based higher education which would also incorporate specific job roles along with broad based general education. This would enable the graduates completing Bachelors in Vocation to make a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs, and creating appropriate knowledge. We motivate our students to become an independent and effective learner and opens up a range of prospects on completion of the course. The industry offers opportunities to young designers in large set ups of architecture, interior design, kitchen design and exhibition design practices. Graduates are equipped to begin their own practice as freelancing or further for their post-graduation in the allied field.

With the emerging needs of the growing pattern of economy, there has been a long-felt necessity of aligning the education system with adequate knowledge and skills required for employment and entrepreneurship. This shall enable in the logistic development of a well- groomed industry ready graduates. The curriculum aims at Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree in Interior Design is to fulfil the Skill Gap requirements required by the building industry. It is designed with multiple exit options to Diploma/Advanced Diploma/bachelor’s degree under NSQF (National Skills Qualifications Framework) based on NVEQF (National Vocational Educational Qualification Framework), and Industry requirements. Interior Design addresses the importance of human habitat and the built environment that supports human activities and values. It generates order to the space occupied by people, by making one aware of how the space influences our identity, productivity, and wellness. As an interior designer one has the vital task to create intentional spatial interactions that can have a positive effect on human beings in whichever space they may inhabit – working, living or recreational. The students are trained in representative skills through regular studios and a team of specialized Design Faculty that focus on Freehand drawing, technical drawing and Model making. These skills are further supplemented through elective subjects such as Interior Lighting, Interior Landscape, Sustainable Interior, Set Design, Interior Project Management, Furniture Design and Product Design. The program aims at promoting a holistic approach to the designing process by simultaneously involving inputs from theory, allied subjects, and electives into design. Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree in Fashion Technology aims to create graduates with core technical skills and knowledge required for the Fashion Garment Industry. The program is structured to provide intensive practical skills in Fashion industries.
