Dr. Anita Awasthi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur, with over 22 years of teaching, research, and academic experience (as of 2026). She currently serves as the Coordinator of the B.A. (Hons.) Sociology Programme and is actively involved in academic administration, curriculum development, student mentoring, and research. Her areas of specialization include Postmodern Sociological Theory, Social Research Methods, Gender Studies, Community Development, Public Health, and Social Policy. She has published more than 30 research papers, including seven papers in Scopus-indexed journals, in addition to publications in Web of Science, UGC-CARE, and other reputed peer-reviewed journals. She has authored six books and contributed to several research and consultancy projects focusing on social impact assessment, child labour, women empowerment, public health, corporate social responsibility, and community development. Dr. Awasthi has participated in numerous national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and faculty development programmes. She is committed to promoting quality education, interdisciplinary research, and community engagement, with a focus on generating evidence-based solutions to contemporary social issues.
