Bio Sketch/About
Dr. Udhav Sureka is the Course Co-ordinator of M.A. Hindu Studies programme at the School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. He teaches several courses in M.A. Hindu Studies, B.A. (H) Philosophy, and B.A. Programme (Philosophy), covering both Indian and Western philosophical traditions. He also contributes to the M.A. Philosophy distance learning programme of the University. He is a member of the University’s IKS Committee and is focused on the improvement of academics and research in Indian Knowledge Systems.
He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from CSJM University, Kanpur, and his doctoral thesis focused on socio-ethical dimensions of Shankara-Vedanta. He did his M.A. in philosophy from D.A-V. College, Kanpur, with specializations in Yoga and Vedanta, where he was awarded the gold medal for securing the highest marks in philosophy in the University. He is UGC-NET qualified in philosophy with a 100-percentile score. He has several publications in reputed international peer-reviewed journals on diverse issues of ancient Indian philosophy. He has also received traditional training in Advaita Vedanta and has diverse experience of teaching Hindu scriptures to people from all walks of life.
