Dr. Sandesh Gupta is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the School of Engineering and Technology (earlier known as UIET), Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur. Alongside his institutional responsibilities, he serves as the Regional Contest Director (RCD) for the ICPC Asia Kanpur Site.
With more than two decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, his academic work spans medical image processing, multimodal biometrics, image fusion, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision support in complex institutional systems. His contributions emphasize analytical rigor, algorithmic design, and practical relevance.
Dr. Gupta has published in reputed SCI and Scopus indexed journals and conferences and holds a granted international patent in the domain of medical imaging. He has also played an active role in curriculum development, faculty mentoring, and academic leadership at university, state, and national levels.
Through his long association with the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), he has contributed significantly to promoting competitive programming, structured problem-solving, and research-oriented learning, helping position institutions within the global academic and computing ecosystem.
