Bio Sketch/About
Dr. Himanshu Trivedi is an academician, researcher and administrator in the field of Horticulture, with specialization in Floriculture and Landscaping and Natural Farming. He is currently serving as Associate Professor and Director, School of Agriculture Sciences and Technology at CSJM University, Kanpur. He also holds additional responsibilities as Director (Sustainability & SDGs) and In-charge, Horticulture, University Campus.
He obtained his B.Sc. (Agriculture) from Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, M.Sc. (Horticulture – Floriculture and Landscaping) from Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj and Ph.D. in Horticulture (Floriculture and Landscaping) from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. He qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) in 2013 and 2021.
Dr. Trivedi has more than 11 years of teaching and research experience. His research contributions include over 30 research papers published in reputed national and international journals, along with 3 authored books, 3 edited books, 20 book chapters and 25 popular articles. He also holds 6 Indian patents, reflecting his focus on innovation and applied research.
He has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, presenting his research work and engaging in academic exchange. He has also undergone several professional training programs to strengthen his teaching and research competencies. He is a life member of various national and international professional societies.
Dr. Trivedi has been actively involved in science communication and outreach, contributing to radio, television, Live talk show and podcast programs focused on youth empowerment and farmers’ welfare. He has also served as an anchor for the video magazine Pantnagar Parikrama.
His academic excellence has been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Young Scientist Award (2015 & 2017), Co-inventor Award (2016), Excellence in Teaching Award (2016) and the R.K. Pathak Best Teacher Award by different professional societies at B H U, Varanasi, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Long Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and RK Pathak Best Teacher Award at NAU, Navsari Gujrat. He has international exposure through academic visits to Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Indonesia, and Vietnam. His current academic and administrative engagements focus on promoting sustainable agriculture, innovation in horticulture education and alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
