Function

The functions of Centre for Internal Quality Assurance would, interalia, include the following namely:-

  • To maintain quality in the services provided to the learners, the University undertakes self-evaluative and reflective exercises for continual quality improvement in all systems and processes.
  • It contributes to the identification of key areas in which the University should maintain quality and devises mechanisms to ensure that the quality of Open and Distance Learning programs and Online programs matches that of relevant programs in conventional modes.
  • Additionally, mechanisms for interaction with and obtaining feedback from all stakeholders, namely learners, teachers, staff, parents, society, employers, and government, are devised for quality improvement.
  • Measures are suggested to the University authorities for qualitative improvement, and implementation of recommendations is facilitated through periodic reviews.
  • Workshops, seminars, and symposiums on quality-related themes are organized to ensure participation of all stakeholders and disseminate reports of such activities among all concerned in the University.
  • Best practices in all areas leading to quality enhancement in services to learners are developed and collated, with dissemination to all concerned in the University.
  • Accurate, complete, and reliable statistics about the quality of the program(s) are collected, collated, and disseminated.
  • A mechanism is put in place to ensure the proper implementation of Program Project Reports, according to norms and guidelines prescribed by the Commission and appropriate regulatory authorities. Annual Plans and Annual Reports of the University are maintained, periodically reviewed, and actionable reports generated.
  • Input is provided to the University for restructuring programs to make them relevant to the job market.
  • System-based research on ways of creating a learner-centric environment and bringing about qualitative change in the entire system is facilitated.
  • The University acts as a nodal coordinating unit for seeking assessment and accreditation from designated bodies such as NAAC, ensuring internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement practices through periodic accreditation and audit. It also coordinates between the University and the Commission for various quality-related initiatives or guidelines.
